How to Choose a Pattern
Once you have decided to score your concrete floor, you will need to decide what type of pattern you want. Many people want a large tile look - most often on the diagonal (also called a diamond pattern).
The size of the room and what you will place in the room should also be considered. The pattern should fit the space and not be too busy. This is what I call "Best Fit" pattern.
In addition to the traditional square tile or tiles on the diagonal, there are also staggered rectangles, ashlar slate, geometric swoohes and circles to be considered.
From a design and pattern-flow perspective, the pattern should compliment the room and enough of the pattern should be seen so that people will recognize what it is.
